How do I gain access to POSEIDON?

Place an AccessNET request for “Poseidon Platform”, once approved an account will be generated and email sent to your COH email address. For more detail instruction or a step by step click on How To Get Access

Navigating the POSEIDON Platform

Once you have access, there are subsections of links that will help you navigate the main home page and teach you how to launch our daily cohort.

What data sources feed POSEIDON?

  • Data from various internal City of Hope data and publicly available datasets.
  • All the data being shown has been Safe Harbor de-identified and is HIPAA compliant.
  • We will continue to add more standardized data sources over time including Epic and other enterprise-level systems at COH.

How often is the data updated?

The POSEIDON Daily Cohort aka PCDM Daily is ~ 48-72 hours behind our clinical data sources. The TCGA and OCPD cohorts are fixed in time.

Can I use this data for my research?

The COH datasets that are available are usable for cohort discovery purposes, if you wish to actively investigate the cohort and publish on that data, IRB approval is required.  Please see the links below to see how to obtain access to data.

  •  Link to the Honest Broker Pages
  •  For more information on IRB process please visit IRB page on iHOPE.

Can I use this for upcoming grants and/or upload my own data?

Yes, POSEIDON can host your data. For Apollo databases, you will need to work with us to ingest your data. We’ll work with you to determine what may be necessary based on your research goals.

How much will this cost me?

POSEIDON is a shared resource in which the Center for Informatics is covering consumption (storage, compute, etc.) fees.  There are some limitations to this, please talk to us about what you’re interested in doing to ensure it’s all covered.
